SAIS Avalanche Forecast


Run by those hardy guys who go out every day to check out the avalanche risk in all the major climbing areas, this is an excellent source of information to us all.

They publish the daily forecasts of the avalanche, snow, and climbing conditions at 5 climbing areas of Scotland during the season. Not only giving avalanche risk but also providing comments on the climbing conditions and ice build-up in all the major climbing areas. Always come here before you go out there.

West Coast Mountain Guides Conditions Blog

For 25 years Alan Kimber ran West Coast Mountain Guides until April 2013 when he handled over to instructor and guide Bruce Poll. The Blog provides one of the best winter conditions reports available. The climbing guides are out on a regular basis through the season in the Lochaber area and other locations to the West.
